If I have stayed in Taiwan for more than six months but do not have an employer and am neither an employer nor self-employed, how can I join the National Health Insurance?

  1. If you do not have any eligible family members under whose name you can apply for NHI, please apply for the NHI at your local township/city/district office.
  2. If you can apply as a dependent to a working spouse or a direct relative, please apply for the NHI as a dependent. For related regulations, please refer to Article 18 of the Enforcement Rules of the National Health Insurance Act .
