Head of Grid Technology

This position is responsible for managing the delivery and operations of grid technology solutions across a designated region, which includes multiple countries in East Asia and Southeast Asia. The role involves leading the management team for the Asia-Pacific area, shaping both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations within the region. This includes overseeing budget management, resource allocation, efficiency improvements, and strategic initiatives to meet business and financial objectives. Key responsibilities include guiding and developing a team that handles bids, field services, project management, and technical support to ensure smooth, sustainable business operations in the region. This position also involves collaborating closely with sales teams, factories, and other operational units to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities. Fostering strong customer relationships and enhancing client satisfaction is crucial. The role will serve as a primary contact for local clients and industry stakeholders, regularly meeting with them to ensure the successful delivery of ongoing projects and to secure future business opportunities. The individual will also work closely with the sales team to drive and support new sales initiatives and oversee project implementation. Maintaining transparency across the region is essential, including setting priorities for both short-term and long-term growth while ensuring a deep understanding of local market needs and client requirements. Another key aspect is building relationships with local contractors, assessing their potential as preferred suppliers, and exploring partnerships to enhance business opportunities. Qualification : A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is an advantage. At least 5 years of proven leadership experience in managing teams, budgets, and projects. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry, particularly in grid technologies and services within East Asia, is essential. Prior experience in an engineering role or technical field service position is a plus. Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.- Ability to thrive in challenging environments with a positive attitude. Cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients. Proficiency in IT tools such as the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Projects), SAP, and CRM systems like Salesforce. Fluency in English is essential, while additional languages spoken in the region are highly valued. Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally internationally. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
