PDAP - (Senior) Assembly Process Engineer
【Job Overview】
The Assembly Process Engineer is responsible for fixtures and methods to: build engineering samples, do proof of principle of assembly methods, execute tests to define critical process parameters and ensure that device designs are fit for high volume production.
【Main Responsibilities】
• Review device designs for manufacturability (Design For Assembly) and design/evaluate improvements. • Design fixtures and methods to reproduce critical steps of the assembly process on benchtop lab equipment. • Design fixtures and methods to produce engineering samples on Robot pilot line. • Ensure that specifications are correct, complete, feasible and efficient. Identify variables in a device and how these variables occur in the manufacturing process. • Assess the criticality of these variables based on device function and manufacturing capabilities. • Plan tests to find the limits of critical variables. • Execute tests with minimal operator influence and maintained traceability. • Document results from tests. • Proof of concept testing. • Support development of process control strategy. • Support vendors on building commercial assembly equipment.

- CAD tools and mechanical engineering
- Basic Written and Spoken English
• Basic Knowledge/Understanding of the following is a plus:
- Word, Excel and Minitab
- SolidWorks
- Programming (FANUC Robots, PLC - ST/TwinCAT, Python, Web development)
