You can choose to apply for an Employment Gold Card with a validity period of 1 year, 2 years, or 3 years. Within four months before the card expires, if you still meet the eligibility criteria, you may apply for an extension.

About four months before the Employment Gold Card is set to expire, the National Immigration Agency will send an email notification.

Reapplication: Refers to submitting a new application after the Gold Card has expired. The start date will be the date of approval.

Extension Application: Refers to submitting an extension application within four months before the Gold Card expires. The start date will immediately follow the expiration date of the previous Gold Card.

Please note:

  1. Whether it’s a “reapplication” or an “extension application,” you must meet the application requirements for the Gold Card. If you no longer meet the original application criteria, please check if you qualify under other criteria and submit your application accordingly.
  2. The online application buttons for “reapplication” and “extension application” are different, so please be sure to distinguish between them. You can refer to the instructions below:

There are three ways to extend your residency:

  1. Gold Card Extension: You can apply for an extension via the “ Foreign Professionals Online Application Platform (Employment Gold Card)” within 4 months before the expiration date on your Gold Card.
