As a Global Supplier Manager (GSM) at Micron, you will have the unique opportunity to manage a large strategic supplier or suppliers, contributing to Micron’s world-class memory and storage solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with team members across multiple categories to ensure high-quality supplier support when providing goods and services. Your expertise will be crucial in driving supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Management Participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers Lead cross-category and significant company-to-company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as needed Serve as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution Partner with the category team and stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performance Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive Leadership

Cost Management & Analysis Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal stakeholders Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

Negotiation Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plans Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions

Business Partnering Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationships with Category Director, Global Category Managers, and Category Supplier Managers Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement processes A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing. Strong negotiating and analytical skills. Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved. Advanced skills in material cost structure understanding and analysis
