Manufacturing Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities: • NPI Support Working closely with Development Engineering in process optimization and tool design for manufacturing. Working closely with Assembly on process transfer ensure smooth transfer of product from design to assembly house for production. Be the key interface between Development, Engineering and Assembly house. • Coordinate with Contract Manufacturers Communicate regularly with CM’s production, quality, and engineering teams. Ensure production schedules and plans are met. • Coordinate with Key Suppliers Maintain communication with important suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of critical parts. Work with suppliers to resolve any component-related issues. • Process Introduction and Validation Support the transfer and validation of new manufacturing processes at the CM. Ensure processes meet product specifications through testing and pilot runs. • Process Improvement Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and quality problems. Propose and implement improvements to increase yield, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. • Quality Control and Problem Solving Monitor quality performance at the CM and handle quality issues. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions with CM and suppliers. • Technical Support and Training Provide work instructions, SOPs, and inspection criteria to CM staff. Conduct training to ensure proper manufacturing practices. • Production Scheduling and Supply Chain Support Work with supply chain and CM to align production plans with demand. Track production progress and address any delays. • Equipment and Material Management Assist CM in maintaining equipment and managing materials. Monitor inventory and coordinate material replenishment. • Reporting and Documentation Prepare reports on yield, failures, and improvement activities. Maintain manufacturing records as required. • On-site Support and Audits Visit CM sites regularly to review manufacturing and quality. Support internal and customer audits. • Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams on new product introduction and problem solving. Help plan manufacturing strategies based on business needs. • RMA Handling Lead the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process from factory side. Analyze returned products, find root causes, and work with CM and suppliers for corrective actions. Prepare RMA failure reports and follow up with quality or customer service teams.
