The lead engineer is responsible for the preparation of the technical part of a project specific proposal. These include the responsibility for a timely response to the commercial team as well as timely input to the approval process by senior management.
Main duties include: • Check technical documentation provided by the client • Summarize design relevant information and provide this information to the design engineers • Coordinate the design process within the engineering team and with other WECS functions like testing team, production team and commercial team • Organize design review meetings with production, testing and commercial team to agree the technical solution for the proposal • Collect the material, production, testing and any other relevant cost as input for the commercial team • Prepare a technical risk assessment based on the client’s requirements and the technical solution • Mitigate technical risk by adjusting the technical solution as far as reasonably possible • Support the legal and commercial team to mitigate risks within the contract as far as reasonably possible • Prepare technical proposal documentation • Request technical reports from subject matter experts and follow up on provision of the reports • Lead technical alignment meetings with the client during the negotiation phase • Feedback changes in the technical solution based on technical negotiations to other WECS functions, adjust costs and technical documentation • Managing Contract, Cost, Risk, Interface, Document control and Schedule during execution phase.
